First Aid Kits
The First aid kit is the one that is well stocked, small and handy kit, which is of utmost use in all the emergencies.
The kit should be kept in every home, schools, buses , public places, factories, picture halls, etc. ready to use for the emergency.
You can have a one such kit in your home as well as occupy one in your car.
These first aid kits are available commercially in the drug stores; you can either purchase one such kit of your choice or make it your own.
Contents of the first aid kit:
Emergency resuscitator apparatus bag including:
Pocket mask
Face shield
Nasopharyngeal airway (if possible)
Manual suction or aspirator
Bag mask valve device
Dressing materials:
Adhesive bandages and adhesive tapes of different sizes.
Sterile gauze pieces, sterile cotton pads of varying sizes.
Triangular bandage
Bandages, of different sizes, including the elastic bandages and bandage strips.
Sterile cotton balls and cotton tipped swabs.
Instruments:
Scissors and forceps
Torch or penlight
Lighter
Tweezers
Irrigation syringes
Thermometer
Splints
Others:
Lubricants such as petrolatum jelly
Antiseptic solutions like dettol, mercurochrome, cleansing alcohol, etc.
Antibiotic ointment
Saline solution
Waste disposal plastic bags

Personal protection equipments:
The hand rubber gloves, surgical masks, eye goggles,
alcohol rub or the soap or any antiseptic hand cleansing solution
Medications:
Analgesics or the pain relieving drugs
Antibiotics
Anti-diarrhoeal medications
Hydrocortisone medications
Topical medications
Packets of the ORS (oral rehydration salts)
Activated charcoal to be used in case of poisoning.
Emergency medications- such as epinephrine, in the form, of auto-injector.
